London Short Films – Selling your Short Films Online

Could this be a way out of the gutter for the penniless London filmmaker? Jeremy Wooding is offering a hand to help you up, with his new website www.londonshortfilms.com. The site is just underway and so looks it could do with a little filling up, so I assume that’s where you guys (London filmmakers) come in.

Set up by filmmakers for filmmakers it enables London short filmmakers to sell their films via download or streaming. The Shorts must be made by London-based directors, or shot in London.

The filmmaker receives 75% of the purchase price (top price £2 per film). It’s a non-exclusive deal, and extras can easily be added to the film offer.

“The system of accounting is quick and transparent with constant access to your account… The site has come about after personal experience as a maker of short films. I hope we can empower new and established filmmakers with this site.”

(Jeremy Wooding, filmmaker, site co-founder)

London Short Films is not the first to have had an of this kind idea and as I look around the Gorilla office today I still see a lot of poor filmmakers, but as my grandmother used to say “shy bairns get nae jam on their bread”. It’s free to sign up so there’s no excuse really not to give it a go, lets hope we will all be getting some Jam soon.
