RAINDANCE FILM FESTIVAL – London, times, locations and prices vary. See website for details.
Raindance has established itself as a major film festival in the UK as well as being internationally recognised as one of the best that focuses on independent film. It runs from the 26th September until 7th October and has far too many screenings, discussions and filmmaking masterclasses to mention in this little blurb, so check out their website to see what’s on offer.

This night, as part of the Beyond Scala season, is focused on (obsessed with?) that very specific sub-genre of High School Prom Horror films. Over the course of the night, and morning, they’re showing Prom Night (1980), Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night 2 (1987), The Loved Ones (2009) and Carrie (1976). You also get free coffee, a free cocktail and a free breakfast bap! I like a good breakfast bap.

MONDAY 1st
SHOOTERS IN THE PUB – Hackney Picturehouse, 270 Mare Street, Hackney, London, E8 1HE – 6:30pm – FREE
Run by the lovely people from shootingpeople.org, Shooters in the Pub is the monthly meet up for filmmakers. No screenings or any of that flim-flammery, just filmmakers meeting up to have a few drinks and polite conversation about making films. A great place to find people to work with if you’ve got a project or are looking for one.
