It’s official. Drea Cooper & Zack Canepari, the filmmakers behind the awesome documentary films, California is a Place, are making a movie! A long movie. A feature documentary. It’s titled T-Rex and it’s the story of a teenage female boxer from Flint, Michigan. Last month, she turned 17 and had a water balloon fight for birthday. Next month, she is going to the Olympics, as the youngest female boxer, in the first year that women are allowed to compete in Olympic boxing.
If you haven’t seen California is a Place before, they are brilliantly shot documentaries that pack a lot into a few short minutes, really showing a much more associative and real side of the world famous state of California.
T-Rex has got half way through production and Zack and Drea have put a lot of their own money into the project, but now sadly they are at the stage where they need help. So they’ve started a Kickstarter watch the trailer bellow, see what you think, but in the eyes of Gorilla this film is certainly worth at least five of your limey dollars.
